The Procurement Services Department is responsible for all procurement related tenders and contracts. A closed tender system is practiced.

Agriculture:
Tenders are advertised in the local newspapers especially those that are related to the farming activities, for example weed control, cane harvesting, mechanical equipment hire, fertilizer application.

Packaging:
Raw materials required for the packaging operation are procured from suppliers that specialize in the packaging field and are typically multi nationals. Here we invite tenders from these specific suppliers and then follow a structured closed tender system.  

Mill Operations:
Here we typically talk about bearings, seals, gas, nuts and bolts, and other operational items as well as equipment from original manufacturers (OEM’s).

Transport:
Here we typically talk about bearings, seals, tyres, garage equipment, tyre retreads, batteries and other operational items as well as fuel supply and fuel management.

Capital:
A formal capital request and approval system is followed. After approval formal tenders are invited via the closed tender system and business allocated after adjudication, recommendation and approval.

Services:
Various services are outsourced following a tender process. Examples are security, cleaning services, waste removal and dump site control, training and related human resource activities.
